Phytoconstituents Screening and Antioxidant Activity of Syringodium isoetifolium Leaf Extracts

This research aimed to explore the antioxidant potency of leaf extracts Syringodium isoetifolium seagrass. In this study, seagrass leaves were collected from local tribe’s source, dried and extracted with water, alcohol, hydro alcohols, acetone n-hexane. Phytochemical investigation on was performed using chemical gas chromatography-mass spectrometric techniques. It reveals that are enriched pharmacologically active compounds such as phenol, polyphenol, alkaloid, glycoside, saponin, flavonoids, dicarboxylic acids other constituents. Later, crude estimated for activity different in vitro methods 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl-hydrate, total antioxidant, nitric oxide, superoxide anion hydroxyl radical scavenging activities. The result demonstrated exhibited higher compared ascorbic acid. Among extracts, hydroalcoholic extract had shown an excellent due existence more potent phytochemicals.
